Creating a Link Attribute

The Link attribute gives you the option to upload documents, images or files. Also, you can add web links to the attribute with external source.

Click on the icon on the right side of the field to upload a file from your PC, or enter (paste) address/link from the web to add it to the attribute.

Local File Link Attributes

Google Chrome and other web browsers do not allow local file links, which start with file:///, because of potential malicious files. If local file links were allowed, the security of our application would be seriously threatened.

What you can do is copy your local file link from the attributes section, paste it into the new tab and press enter. This way, your web browser will open your local file link.

Customizing the Attribute

Click on the icon next to the name  of the link attribute to Edit attribute name in a new window.

In this section, you can add/edit English and German translation of the attribute name.

Also, by clicking on Manage display icon, you can upload an icon you can use to show link as symbol.

Once you have uploaded an icon, options Remove icon and Download icon will appear.

If you want to remove the icon you uploaded, click on  Remove icon.

By clicking Download icon, you can download the previously uploaded icon.

Show Link attribute as symbol on canvas area

When you drag&drop the link attribute on canvas area, make sure to check Display icon checkbox in Model properties - Attributes panel.

If you check Display icon checkbox, link attribute will show on canvas area as symbol/icon you previously uploaded.

If you did not upload an icon for the link attribute and you checked Display icon checkbox, link attribute will show on canvas area as default link symbol.
