Export as / Import from EXCEL (.xlsx) Overview

  • Export as EXCEL exports selected model or all models in the selected folder in form of an EXCEL (.xlsx) file.
  • Import from EXCEL imports explorer/database structure from an EXCEL (.xlsx) file.

Export as EXCEL

In Explorer tab select the folder or model from which you want to export the data and select Export icon from Toolbar.

If the model is selected, select Export as EXCEL (.xlsx) as format for export.

If the folder is selected, select Export as EXCEL Folder (.xlsx) as format for export.

Choose the language in which you want the data to be exported. In case a folder is selected, mark whether you want subfolders to be included.

As a result of the export, the user is presented with the xlsx file containing data about the attributes of the selected model and the attributes of all objects contained in the selected model. If the folder is selected, the xlsx file contains information about the attributes of all the models contained in the selected folder and the objects contained in those models.

The data is displayed in the language that is selected for export, and if there is no data in that language, then the data is displayed in another existing language (the name of that language is listed within square brackets next to the data).

You can make changes to the exported file and then apply those changes to the matching objects by importing the modified file. This way, you can modify existing attribute values and add new (previously created) attributes for multiple objects at once. You cannot create new attributes or change attributes from a model.

Import from EXCEL

In Explorer tab select the folder or model in which you want to upload file and select Import icon from Toolbar. Select Import from EXCEL (.xlsx) as format for import.

Choose the file you want to import and the content language to which you want to apply the data contained in the imported file.

The attribute names in the file you are importing must match the attribute names in the selected content language.

Mark whether you want to overwrite existing data.

If you choose to overwrite existing data, we suggest that you back up your data before proceeding with this action. If you opt not to overwrite existing data, this action only adds new attributes to the matching objects and does not change existing attribute values.
