The API Developer Portal allows you to grant customer developers access to your APIs. In the Developer Portal, developers can sign up for APIs, access them, and try out APIs that you have enabled for them.

The portal is designed to keep the discovery and use of APIs simple for the target group. Therefore, some restrictions apply to users who are only allowed to access the Developer Portal:

  • Organizations: Developer Portal users cannot create their own organizations. Since everything in the API Management data model exists in the context of an organization, an organization is automatically created for users who only have access to the API Developer Portal. This kind of organization is based on the user name.
  • Clients: Developer Portal users cannot create client versions or unregister a client by themselves. If a Developer Portal user wants to unsubscribe, the whole client will be deleted. If the user wants to reuse a deleted client, he can create a new one with the same name.
